I have the XV144 on my K2 and I wondered how it connects to the K3?
Obviously it uses the transverter interface but on the K2 it uses the
serial interface. How does that work on the K3 with the XV3 interface?
Ian (and others) -
I enquired about this to Elecraft Support last week and received a very
prompt reply from Gary. I hope Gary won't mind if I quote his reply for
the benefit of others wishing to hook up their XV144, etc......

You need to use the DE-15 AUX I/O connector to interface with the XV144.
The auxbus line is needed for addressing and control of the transverter
(using its ADR setting and the XV's DIP switches). And the KEYOUT-LP
line is needed to place the XV into transmit mode, in the same way as
the 8R line does for the K2. So you'll need to make a cable like this:
XV DB9 K3 DB15
Pin Pin
1 ground 5
6 auxbus 2
8 XVTR ON 7
9 PTT 10
Radio Shack stocks DB15 male connectors. I got one there recently.
