The sidetone mode to the K2 was an improvement but there appears to be an
artifact(s) on the tone itself.....not quite a thump but something on the
sidetone when it is keyed......don't know quite how to describe it but I can
hear it....but then I am VERY picky about sidetone purity and thumps and
clicks (grin).
One of these days when my tech bench clears I'm gonna put the K2 sidetone on
my scope and take a look at it when keyed...perhaps I can see what I am
talking about on the sidetone.
The K2 sidetone is not as pure and "smooth" as the sinewave sidetone in my
Argonaut V....there are no artifacts on the Argo V sidetone at all.....very
pleasant to listen to.
This is really my only nit to pick on the K2...the sidetone
generation....the rest of the radio is superb and my favorite portable rig.
The K3 I listened to at Dayton, courtesy of Wayne N6KR, generated a pure
sinewave....very easy on the ears with no artifacts at all.
Did I say that I can't wait to get my K3??? (huge GRIN)
