Hi Bob,

As Greg (AB7R) mentioned, it isn't possible for the K3 to provide coverage in the vicinity of our first I.F., 8.215 MHz. We felt that this was a small price to pay, given our primary goal of offering an excellent ham-band transceiver. However, all other bands of interest for general coverage from 0.5 to 30 MHz can be tuned. If you have the KBPF3 option installed (on either or both receivers), its filters will automatically be switched in to cover the gaps between the narrow ham-band filters. But even without the KBPF3 you'll have useful sensitivity in shortwave broadcast segments near ham bands.
