Hi Guys, I am back after a few years, having built a couple of K2's and really enjoyed it. I had been following Ten Tec Orion since announcement, through beta, release, production, and then through to Orion II. They never seemed to get the kind of handle on the firmware that I would have liked, and the original transceiver was well over $3000. That was too much for me for taking a chance. Recently, used Orions have been popping up at attractive prices but even after it's fully matured as a product, it seems just a little unfinished for my likes.
At the price the base K3 is offered, and knowing the E-guys, it was a no brainer to sign up for K3. Nothing is ever perfect in version 1.0, nor at the end of the run for that matter, but the Elecraft guys have impressed me from the early days.
