I’ve just picked up 5 x 12v new sealed lead acid batteries (7Ah) at the local Hamfest with a view to using them as a portable supply for my K2 (in the upcoming John Moyle Field Day ). I’ve wired these in parallel, but was just curious whether anyone has any recommendations regarding use, charging etc etc, as I’m new to any sort of battery/portable operation. I also picked up a small 2.5amp charger at the same Hamfest! What sort of life should I expect with the basic K2 under contest condx with this type of battery pack (at full output ~15w, as our local FD has no QRP category)?? Would I be able to power the k2/100 from this, and again, what sort of life would I be looking at ?? Any tips or links to relevant web-sites appreciated !!
