My K1 Serial 1491 with KFL1-4 also died on 20m for no apperant reason.
This happend only few weeks ago.
The K1 had been off air ( shame on me) for 2-3 months.
Arrived at my holiday QTH , unpacked and powered up the K1 and it wouldn't
tune on 20.
No rx noice when tuning the vfo over the band.
I popped the hud to look for any fault while tapping on the trimcaps and
xtales.
Bingo. A tapp on the 20m xtal made the beast go alive.
It has worked since then , but I suspect the xtal to die again.
It seems that most of us has the same problem caused by a faulty xtal that
came from a bad productionrun.
Elecraft could send us new xtals as a xmasgift :-)
