There are SO many ways the KIO3/b can be damaged besides lightning
damage ... static electricity in my very dry climate being one of them.
I've owned several rigs over the years and none have ever required
repair, and none of those manufacturers touted lasting support in the
first place.

Which is why when the KIO3 on my K3 inevitably dies like many others

lasting support when I bought the K3, but that obviously didn't happen.
Hi Dave,
The primary failure mode on the KIO3 and KIO3b is lightning damage,
caused by the failure to do proper grounding and bonding. Don't blame
the mfr, look in the mirror.

And while complaining about repair services, have you tried to send
anything to the JA mfrs for repair? I have, and it wasn't pretty.
