GM Bill and many thanks for your two emails.
First, yes the sub-RX also exhibits the same loss of
signal.
Looking back at my 2025 log (I am QRV every day) for 17m,
the problem appears to have started at the end of January
and was perhaps more sudden than what I first thought. Up
until then I was having 17m QSOs (some with DX stations) at
least every two/three days, but since 28 January, only with
two strong European stations. So, please ignore my earlier
remarks about the problem coming on gradually. I ought to
add that I only run 5W CW QRP but this wouldn't affect the
receiver would it?
I cannot think of anything I did to the K3 around 28
January, changing the settings, etc, that might account for
the problem. BUT, just after I typed this (I am working my
way through your email), I came to your paragraph about the
KXV3 module and, lo and behold, that is what I must have
done - accidentally pressed the RX ANT button while on 17m!

I hadn't noticed the RX on the display, probably because it
was right above the PRE display that I had also switched in
on 17m, and I (wrongly) thought it was one display of RX
PRE.
Thanks ever so much for pointing me in the right direction
and a big feather in your cap for diagnosing the problem
for me.
