Thanks Ed, your reply was on the mark. This only happened when wsjt or jtdx
was started up in Linux. I looked in the K3s manual to get a description of
that circuit and on the way there I read again about the menu item
"Rts/Dtr" and it was set to PTT/PTT or something like that. I decided to
switch it to Off-Off as I was using CAT to control the radio. That solved
it. I suppose I could have also set the Dtr and Rts to some type of a null
or do not use value in each software and may still but I have the correct
operation in Linux which in windows I guess something related to this is
different.
