Hi Mike, I would first reduce the TX power control for a setting less than 10 watts. That will bypass the KPA3 100 watt PA module via the relay K1 on the KPAIO3 board.
If that restores your RX background signal level to be comparable to that observed when you put the same antenna on the RX Antenna input port, then it's likely that one or more of the PIN diodes in the T/R switch on the KPA3 board has been damaged, OR it's possible that one of the RF chokes that supplies the DC switching voltage to the PIN diodes has opened up. If that test doesn't restore your RX background signal level, then check that the KAT3 ATU is still enabled in the CONFIG menu. If it is enabled, then set the KAT3 to 'bypass' by holding the ATU button until BYPASS is shown on the screen. If that doesn't restore RX background signal level, then you may have bad relay in the KAT3 ATU. Please keep us posted. 73, Mike, K8CN ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
