"The problem I am having is: with radio on 17 M, when I run a “tune” sequence, the KAT does not switch to Ant 3, in fact it will not let me manually switch to ant 3. I occasionally have the same issue with the tuner not switching on other bands, to the selected antenna as set up in the utility. Any suggestions on what may be causing this ?
I suggest you use the KAT500 utility to read the "last Observed" values of Frequency, Band, Freq Count, and Freq ATU. Those values will give a good indication of how the KAT500 has responded to your "tune". I have not seen a report from anyone who has had good results with RF frequency counter band switching when the band change requires an antenna change. Far better to send the KAT500 the frequency of the TX VFO before transmission starts. If you can't send the frequency then sending band will at least get the right antenna selected. (Band is not needed if frequency is provided). There was an antenna selection problem in firmware 1.75 that was fixed in firmware 2.xx. That issue was seen only in mode BYP so not likely what you are seeing here.
