Dave is a great example of the very important point I stated near the beginning of this thread -- headphone comfort is strongly dependent on the size/shape of our head and ears.

This matters ONLY if you can't adjust mic gain to provide 100% modulation and achieve good levels of speech compression, 10 dB or so on voice peaks.
