I'm using Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries in my smoke detectors and so far they seem to last a long time.
One risk is that their discharge curve is higher and flatter than alkaline and then drops precipitously at the end of their lifetime. Fortunately yours are hard-wired, so they should still be able to warn you.
