While I realize that precision in statements is important … this is cutting a mighty fine point. OF COURSE it’s the digital processing that causes the delays. It’s perfectly reasonable to assume in this group that we know what we mean when we say that a “wireless” headset introduces delay, and we’re not talking about interplanetary communications. Context matters, and the context of this conversation is Bluetooth headsets .
Analog radio microphones have been used in broadcasting and live sound for at least 50 years, and for at least 30 years, analog radio systems have been used to provide in-ear cue and monitoring for "talent." Neither could work in live sound applications if there was latency.
Precision of wording DOES matter. Lack of precision creates confusion and misunderstanding.
