Ken,
The mistake I made on my KSB2 adaptor acted/sounds like what you are
getting. Have you tried to transmit? Is there audio/RF out? Check the
switching diodes found at either end of the Xtal filter section. Is the
right end up? Are they installed in the right direction. I got one backwards
and got strange sounding receive audio and no transmit signal. I could see
depending which diode is wrong your symptoms would appear. There are 8
diodes to choose from (I think). Also check the usual solder bridges,
etc.... There maybe other causes someone else may help if that is the case.

Hi Everyone,

I've just fitted the KSB2 adaptor to my K2 (#5294), and seem to be
experiencing some oddness. When I select OP1 as the filter, the
signal seems to be greatley attenutated (no signal strength on the S
meter), and you need to have the AF control at near maximum to hear
any output. In contrast, selecting FL3 (1.8KHz), produces much more
'normal' sounding SSB.

Somethings obviously amiss somewhere - does anyone have any thoughts?

Regards,

Ken, G0RVH
