Ken, The mistake I made on my KSB2 adaptor acted/sounds like what you are getting. Have you tried to transmit? Is there audio/RF out? Check the switching diodes found at either end of the Xtal filter section. Is the right end up? Are they installed in the right direction. I got one backwards and got strange sounding receive audio and no transmit signal. I could see depending which diode is wrong your symptoms would appear. There are 8 diodes to choose from (I think). Also check the usual solder bridges, etc.... There maybe other causes someone else may help if that is the case.
Richard Kent WD8AJG -----Original Message----- Hi Everyone, I've just fitted the KSB2 adaptor to my K2 (#5294), and seem to be experiencing some oddness. When I select OP1 as the filter, the signal seems to be greatley attenutated (no signal strength on the S meter), and you need to have the AF control at near maximum to hear any output. In contrast, selecting FL3 (1.8KHz), produces much more 'normal' sounding SSB. Somethings obviously amiss somewhere - does anyone have any thoughts?
