Hi Gerry,Two things about the straight key. The isolated contact should go to the tip of the stereo plug and the chassis of the key should go to the shield of the plug. There should be no connection to the ring of the plug.Next check to see if in the Menu, CW key 1 is set to hand.Look at the KX3 operators manual for more info. 73Jim Hk7sss
