Twice??  Hmmm... I think your count is awry ;)

First you cut it.  Sit down and cool off.
Then you split it.  Sit down and cool off.
Then you transport it to the wood shed. In my case this is via wheelbarrow. Sit down and cool off. Now you get to carry it into the house. In this case you are trying to get warm so no cool down period ;)
Then you burn it.
There is also the part where you clean the chimney and carry out the ashes. I think I will leave that out of the equation.

Cut + Split + Haul + Burn = 4 warming experiences minimum.
