Hi Kevin, I had the same problem! Before you open the case of your new K2,
Try holding the Microphone a bit further away from your mouth than you would
normally do with other radios, About 6 to 8 inchs should do it, If the Heil
mic' is held to close you will overdrive the audio stages, your audio will
sound Bassy and wide, hope this helps regards John M0CDL..
