The KPA500 does not see the K2 Band. I do not have an RS232 connection just the coaxial cables. Tapping the key does not do take the KPA out of transmit even though no longer putting out amplification.
I ran through the menus KPA500 Firmware is 1.11 SN 825 Radio set to Serial (instead of K3) Everything else is default K2 t-r to hold (per the KPA manual) QSK delay 0.03 Per Lyle's comment - removing the key line enables receive while in operate.
