Dick,
The headphone part will work just fine. For the mic part, I believe the
plug on the mic is a mono plug which will activate PTT as soon as it is
plugged in, so you will have to make up an adpater that wires jack tip
to plug tip and jack shell to plug shell (no connection to the ring at
the plug end).
If you want to add another 'tail' to attach a PTT switch, then it
connects between the plug ring and the sleeve.
The elements are compatible and need to have bias turned on.
Note that a mono to stereo adapter that you can purchase in a store will
probably not work because most of them wire both the tip and ring of the
stereo end to the tip of the mono end.
