I'm seeing exactly the same behavior. You have to cycle to standby and back to 
operate if turning on the amp and it's set to start up in operate. 
Also, if I set the pwr in the K3 to "nor", the drive and bypass power feature 
doesn't seem to work at all. To have the feature work, I have to have the pwr 
set to "by band".
