Fred, if you have the DB15 cable installed correctly, the KAT500 and KPA500 will follow the K3 on band changes without needing the dit.
If it doesn't, you have a problem with your DB15 interface. AFAIK, the communications is K3 to KPA50. Not the other way around. 73, Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Fred Jensen Sent: Sunday, November 25, 2012 7:46 PM To: Elecraft Reflector Subject: [Elecraft] KAT500 I guess the list is back. KAT500 question: Mine needs one dit to get to the new band. I have the 15-conductor cables between the K3, KAT500, and KPA500. I thought everybody knew what band I was on automagically. FWIW: I almost always change bands on the KPA500 ... I thought all the rest followed. This is not a "problem," I always send more than one dit answering a station, just curious. 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2013 Cal QSO Party 5-6 Oct 2013 - www.cqp.org ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
