I have heard lots of good things about Elecraft and its staff on this list. I recently placed my first order with Elecraft and I seem to be the exception to the "rule". When I received the email to say my order was shipped I noticed the first letter of the street address had changed from an "M" to an "N". but the house number was still correct. I used Reply in my email program to ask the person sending the shipping notice to confirm the address but never received a response. I also never knew how much was being charged to my credit card until I received my next CC statement. Seems I was charged the the rate on the website of $35 and actual shipping was around $24. The item arrived promptly (the postal code probably helped to point to the right street). Checking the packing slip I saw the same street name error as in the confirmation email, the wrong callsign, and the wrong (but still valid) phone number. Looking back at the original order, the phone number error was mine. I used the secondary number at the house. The other issue was a minor one with a small hole in the plastic back of the mini kit. A couple of parts were poking out the bottom of the bag. An inventory of the parts showed that nothing was missing but a part or two could easily have been lost/misplaced due to the hole in the bag. Overall, the problems were minor. It just shows that even the best of companies still has room for improvement. Shipping labels and confirmation should be part of the same order system to avoid errors in the paperwork and confirmation email. -- Cheers!
