WOW! That would be a GREAT option! I just measured the serial output from the USB cable on my laptop, and I have -6.23 on receive and +6.8 VDC on transmit between the RTS (7) and Signal Ground (5) lines. If it would work to simply stick a 1K or 10K resistor in series with the RTS line, it sure would be a lot more compact and fit better into a connector than resistors and 2N2222 ;-) MNI TNX for all your work!
