I used a Toshiba laptop computer power supply to power my K2 (receive only)
for almost 3 years nonstop 24/7 during a propagation study, although I did
add a voltage regulator placed betweeen the supply's output and the K2. This
particular supply is rated to deliver up to 6 amps at 15V, but its output
voltage is not well regulated and will increase as current draw decreases.
The supply generates noise at HF which could be a problem when operating
portable.

Footnote. Should anyone contemplate using a Laptop's supply in cotinuous
unattended duty, I suggest that the supply should be enclosed in a fireproof
box as a safety measure.
