The K1, K2 and XV series of transverters were a distinctive dark grey (gray) by which the mojo Elecraft products were easily identified. Unfortunately, things turned to black when the KX1 was introduced. Despite black often being associated with death, Elecraft gave its reasons at the time. Personally I was sorry to see the change to black which makes the equipment less distinguishable from the opposition.
