Hi everyone. Just to let you all know K1-4 S/N:1977 is coming along beautifully, receiver tests and alignments were fine, and now I am assembling the last of the transmitter on the control board.
I would like to float an idea here just to get honest and helpful feedback. Due to the nature of what we do here, things sometimes come up which make us wonder and make us wish we could ask someone more knowledgable or experienced, but may not necessarily pertain directly to construction or operation of our Elecraft equipment. Sure we occasionally post something as "OT", but we tend to keep it to a minimum (hopefully). What if we had another venue, not necessarily Elecraft sponsored, to deal with questions some of us may have regarding things electronic/radio that are not directly about Elecraft equipment? I know there was even talk of separating the K1 and K2 stuff at one time, but I assume that idea was put to bed. I believe there are enough people here who would benefit from such a forum (I know I would!), and it would alleviate the OT situation on this reflector. So, is this worth it? Is it doable? I know nothing of what it takes to put up and maintain a reflector, so if that won't work, how about a "Yahoo Group" kind of thing?
