Bitstream Web Font player and creator works with old ASCII hacked technology. That doesn't work with latest Unicode technology. Also that worked with Netscape, doesn't work with Firefox. That should not work with IE7 and IE8 as it's too old.
Thats a expired technology and I agree with Alamgir and that is the only reason people are still using that dead technology.
