The main problem is we are suffering for some mistake of Unicode and Unicode pretends not to change anything once they have done. I don't know why the য ় came on our way. I noticed the problem from Wikipedia. I talked with Google and Microsoft about their search cache database, for example if you search উইকিপিডিয়া and উইকিপিডিয়া (this one with nukta) on both Live and Google, they never returns the same result. This is because they don't treat the letter as same. So Google said it's not going to happen that soon. Lives says something that sound to me "fuck off" so we have nothing to do.

I indeed had a fight with the wikimedia software team, later I shut the thread down. Still you can find the stupid thread on their bugzilla.

The problem doesn't happen for Safari only. All Mac applications has the same problem. Try a site that has য়ে on it's header and visit that with FF3. The header will appear broken.

So we'll wait for your solution Raiyan. You have more things to to in this brake I guess. :)

I'm taking the mail to Ekushey mailing list, so that it can be used for future references. Please contunue farther discussion on the list not here.

Thanks

But thats not a problem without the class definition. If you look at through Firefox 3. Its OK. Try to write ya + nukta + ekaar it will work but the nukta will look a little away from its required position. Its definitely bug of safari.

Now, I don't know one thing where the script told safari to decompose the string? I didn't find any thing like that. On the other hand the script loads the character from as far as I know from Arial and there is no AAT script. If you load this font you'll need safari to be restarted to see proper bangla output. Just look at this string.

I'm going to correct it just after finishing this semester we have only 2 weeks left. You have to wait at least 2 weeks to get my new fonts with those instructions.

    No Raiyan,
This is the problem of decomposing. You never define in the font
that য ় will show the same character য় Here is the solution:
    য় ড় ঢ় are single characters. So you have to point য ় to য়, ঢ ় to ঢ়
and ড ় to ড়, that will be solve the problem. I face the same until
    you fix it.

    Dear All,

This is definitely a problem with Safari. If you try that with
Firefox 3 beta 2. you'll get correct result. It seems to me the
definition of the ben class creates the problem. I tested the
script with and without the definition. Safari works fine without
the definition. I'll report this bug as soon as possible. Thanks
    to finding out the bug.

I am a user of Solaiman Lipi & Rupali on a Mac. I am having a
        problem
with ekaar on 3 letters. o-kaar and ou-kaar have the same
        problem.

It appears that an e-kaar with য় ড় ঢ় do not render up properly if
I process them through a form. I have attached a simple test
        which
shows the problem. I have also attached a screen-shot.

This script works correctly under Windows/IE and
        Windows/Safari, so I
have eliminated Safari as the culprit. I also checked using
        the new
scripts you have on the Ekushey site (Virtual Keyboard
        Scripts) and
the same 3 letters do not render correctly.

I am trying to put in a Javascript/PHP based system where you can
enter Bangla and then cut and paste into an email. I first
        noticed
this problem when I typed in biye (বিয়ে). This worked OK for
direct keyboard input but as soon as it was processed by a
        form to
create the email, the rendering was incorrect.

I have found SolaimanLipi and Rupali to be the only generally
available AAT Bangla Unicode fonts, and so am very keen on a
        solution.
If there is more information you need, please let me know.

        Thanks in advance.
