Hi folks Another 'dumb' question.
I have three connections to SIP servers that my Ekiga 3.2.5 connects to. a) Ekiga.net b) iptel.org c) 2talk.co.nz When I start Ekiga it connects and registers with all three SIP servers fine. And generally there does not seem to be a problem. However, every couple of days I check the accounts and sometimes I find one of the connections is no longer registered. There has been some problem (maybe the SIP server being restarted or going offline or whatever, I don't know) and so Ekiga no longer indicates a registered connection. To fix it I can disable and enable the connection and it immediately registers itself again. And now the dumb questions: a) Can people still call me when this connection error message is on the screen? (maybe redirected through the other sip connections that are still registered?) b) Is this normal? Do connections drop out and leave people 'unregistered' so they can't receive calls??? This doesn't seem right to me. c) I was thinking that if Ekiga does have a dropped connection to a SIP server it should schedule an attempt to reconnect after 5 minutes. Is this already happening and I don't know about it? Cheers Murray -- Murray Collingwood Focus Computing p +61 415 24 26 24 http://www.focus-computing.com.au
