Dear Wikimedia Education Enthusiasts, We’re excited to invite you to join Wikimania 2025, happening in Nairobi, Kenya, from August 6-9, 2025, with a pre-conference on August 5. This year, as we celebrate two decades of Wikimania, our theme, "Wikimania at 20: Inclusivity. Impact. Sustainability," reflects our shared commitment to making free knowledge accessible, impactful, and lasting.
The Call for Program Proposals is open, and we encourage you to submit your ideas and expertise. Proposals can take various forms—whether as an onsite presentation in Nairobi, a remote session from your home or workplace, or a pre-recorded presentation. Submissions close on 31 March 2025, so don’t wait to make your mark! To help spark ideas, here are a few topics that may align with the conference theme: ● Workshops that illustrate creative ways teachers and students are using Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects to foster inclusivity in education. ● Case studies demonstrating measurable impacts of Wikimedia projects in learning environments, such as improving digital literacy. ● Panels or talks discussing innovative strategies to sustain knowledge-sharing across diverse cultures and languages.
