Hi, I have tried to set up an LTSP fat client server and image but have encountered a strange problem. The clients boot but when I log in with a user account all I get is the wall paper and mouse pointer, nothing else. I followed the instructions pretty much to the letter on Jonathan Carter's blog (http://jonathancarter.org/2010/11/24/how-do-ltsp-fat-clients-work/) except that I didn't skip building the image but built it straight away (choosing not to add anything else to the standard image) and I built it with a root password for login to the booted image, using --prompt-rootpass.
I am attaching the output from .xsession-errors below and would really appreciate any help that anyone can offer regarding how to fix this. Many thanks! -Ingrid --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Output from .xsession-errors: Xsession: X session started for tuxuser1 at Fri Jun 22 17:29:47 SAST 2012 export CKCON_X11_DISPLAY=':7' export CKCON_X11_DISPLAY_DEVICE='/dev/tty7' export DISPLAY=':7' export HOME='/home/tuxuser1' export ICEAUTHORITY='/var/run/ldm-xauth-PnWbf9jOb/ICEauthority' export LANG='en_ZA.UTF-8' export LANGUAGE='en_ZA.UTF-8' export LC_ALL='en_ZA.UTF-8' export LOGNAME='tuxuser1' export LTSP_CLIENT='192.168.128.20' export LTSP_CLIENT_HOSTNAME='ltsp20' export LTSP_CLIENT_MAC='6C:62:6D:EF:41:F9' export LTSP_FATCLIENT='True' export MAIL='/var/mail/tuxuser1' export PATH='/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/games:/usr/games' export PWD='/home/tuxuser1' export SHELL='/bin/bash' export SHLVL='1' export TERM='linux' export USER='tuxuser1' export XAUTHORITY='/var/run/ldm-xauth-PnWbf9jOb/Xauthority' export XDG_SESSION_COOKIE='bdcb8fb3282b938b87e176f2000290f7-1340378986.984986-304000745' export _='/etc/X11/Xsession' localuser:tuxuser1 being added to access control list Setting IM through im-switch for locale=en_ZA.
