-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi All
My name is Robin Shepheard and I am a network admin for a smallish firm of stockbrokers. I have been using Linux for about 10 years and as my main OS for about 5 years. I have a very limited programming experience (well I have written a few scripts in perl to make my life easier) but I am by no means a developer. My main field of skills is in the networking area, getting a network up and running and maintaining it. I currently use Linux for a proxy server in the office and for a file server, but I am in the process of using Edubuntu to provide a thin client system to provide access to our citrix published applications. It is not quite as mad as it first sounds as it means I set up the Edubuntu server and then all we need to do when we add a new client is do a network boot, rather than have to do a full install. Yes I could use PXE to install Linux to each desktop but it means I still have to update the client software or re-install after every software update, using Edubuntu this is not the case. I would like to lend a hand with the Edubuntu project if I can. Although I have been using Linux for a fair while I have not felt that I could make much of a contribution in the past. My view has now quite obviously changed and I believe Edubuntu to be a very worthwhile project that I would like to donate some of my time to. I think that I would probably be of most use helping with the documentation or with bug testing, but I am open to trying anything if someone can spare a little while with hand-holding on tasks I am not familiar with. Any suggestions as to how I can make myself useful would be most welcome Cheers Robin Shepheard PS Thanks to laserjock for the friendly greetings and advice and support on the IRC channel the other night -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFEg/i1wzedt4HfCqURAiRCAJ0Uid8KatIkhQpj3YK0m6AOiYHR/ACeNGNH N8o4AXE4WBziw2thcXDVgj4= =4ug/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- edubuntu-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/edubuntu-devel
