the ltsp-client-builder logs to /var/log/messages (which gets copied
to /var/log/installer/messages in the installed system) and outputs to
console 3 (not 4).
if you do installs, i'd suggest something more recent, there were
plenty
of bugfixes since beta (ltsp is at version 0.86 already for example)
take one of the daily images from:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/edubuntu/daily/current/
