I had this bug happened to me. Opened GIMP, but couldn't save a file to /usr/share/icons. So I re-opened GIMP with `sudo gimp`. Next time I try to open GIMP, I get permission denied. I tried removing the directory to hopefully let GIMP auto-regenerate it, but then I got a file not found error.
