See https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278447 for a workaround.
Basically, calibre tries to load an icon which silently fails somewhere in the stack, because of its size. Replacing it with a smaller PNG allows calibre to start normally. The XRandR and XKEYBOARD extension error messages are red herrings (they still appear with the workaround applied). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Edubuntu Bugsquad, which is subscribed to calibre in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1619859 Title: calibre crashes on start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calibre/+bug/1619859/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~edubuntu-bugs Post to : edubuntu-bugs@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~edubuntu-bugs More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
