Would you agree, the leading standards, legacy or emerging, are easily interchangeable within global enterprises?
Any truly global business supports an assortment of standards as part of their global operations. Solution vendors of all flavors are happy to accommodate, more standards supported, more services. X12 does not hold the dominant position it once had, even in Automotive. Asia is the global growth market for most verticals and their preferred standard is EDIFACT or versions of XML. I would suggest any standards body that prices it's self out of the global market will see an appropriate market response. I still have all of the BSI documentation from that era. Made sense to me then and still makes sense.
