The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is
hiring! We are searching for two colleagues to join our team as Assistant
Professors, beginning Fall Semester 2019, and contribute to our departmental
strengths in Sensory Biology, Behavior, and Evolution, or Environmental Change
and Ecology. The application deadline is Dec. 7, 2018. These two positions
are:

Host-Microbe Biologist - see https://jobs.uc.edu (#34747)
We are looking for a colleague studying host-microbe interactions with an
emphasis on cell biology or immunology. Research can range from antagonistic
to mutualistic interactions, focusing on vertebrate, invertebrate or plant
hosts. Topics may include, but are not limited to, manipulation of host biology
or behavior by microbes, microbial shifts in hosts in relation to environmental
change, and host-microbe interactions during immune development.

Computational Biologist - see https://jobs.uc.edu (#34746)
We seek a colleague who develops and uses computational techniques to address
fundamental questions in biology. We expect candidates’ research programs to
integrate theory with empirical study and to build upon or contribute to
existing strengths in our department.

Successful candidates are expected to develop and sustain an independent,
externally funded, internationally recognized research program, teach
undergraduate and graduate courses based on the candidates’ area of expertise,
and contribute to the mission of the department through service. Because the
department is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive campus community,
we are especially seeking candidates with an interest in working with diverse
students.

Sincerely,
Theresa Culley
