Eastern Illinois University Department of Biological Sciences Position Announcement Assistant Professor of Microbiology
The Department of Biological Sciences at Eastern Illinois University (www.eiu.edu/biology<http://www.eiu.edu/biology>) is seeking a Microbiologist at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track), beginning August 2019. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program involving both undergraduate and graduate (Master's level) students. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in microbiology, molecular/cellular biology, and a graduate course in the candidate's area of expertise. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience with promoting inclusive excellence is required. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, and postdoctoral experience is preferred. Candidates with research focus on disease biology of plant/animal system, molecular mechanisms of cellular functions, or microbial genomics are particularly encouraged to apply.
