The Department of Biology at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) has openings for graduate students interested in pursuing a thesis-based Master’s of Science degree in Biology. Facilities within the department include a greenhouse and herbarium, an animal care facility, and entomology and vertebrate collections. Equipment available to support research includes an electron microscope facility, a molecular core facility, and a fleet of trucks and boats. Collaborations with researchers representing other departments, universities, or state and federal agencies are a regular part of our culture. Graduate students are eligible for Teaching Assistantships that provide a stipend of $11,500 for a 9-month contract, with the option for additional summer salary.
