The Landscape Speciality Group (LSG) of the American Association of Geographers wishes to invite all students attending the annual meeting in Washington, DC to consider entering our Student Oral Presentation Competition. <https://sites.google.com/site/aaglandscape/student-award-competitions>
We encourage submissions on theoretical, conceptual, and/or methodological developments in the role of landscape in geography. Possible topics include but are not limited to physical geography problems over multiple scales, interactions among components of cultural-ecological systems, impacts of human modifications to environmental systems, and so forth. A range of topics are acceptable as long as the primary emphasis is on landscape. The competition is open to students of all academic levels. Any work first-authored and presented by a student is eligible, and there is no limit on the number of co-authors. Eligible presentations must be based on original empirical or theoretical research (basic literature reviews are not eligible). The prize for the winning presentation is $250 and $100 for second place. For submission guidelines and more information, please see our website <https://sites.google.com/site/aaglandscape/home>.
