The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track position in 
either animal 
physiology or neurobiology at the Assistant Professor level, beginning Fall 
2019. 
Applicants should have a PhD and post-doctoral experience. The strongest 
candidates 
will be committed to combining teaching and research at a small liberal arts 
college and 
will be prepared to contribute to an integrative Biology curriculum. In 
addition, the Biology 
Department faculty and their courses support an interdisciplinary Neuroscience 
major as 
well as majors in Biochemistry and Environmental Studies.  The successful 
candidate will 
be expected to establish an independent, active research program that can 
effectively 
engage motivated undergraduates from diverse backgrounds.

Teaching responsibilities include participation in a team-taught introductory 
course, an 
intermediate level course in either animal physiology or neurobiology that 
includes 
laboratory and/or fieldwork, and an advanced seminar with research projects in 
an area of 
the applicant’s interest. The College offers competitive start-up packages to

summer support 
of undergraduate research collaborators, and a generous sabbatical policy.
