Dear Ecolog affiliates, My name is Jake Melichar, I recently graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. I have several years of research experience working in laboratory, field and greenhouse settings. I have experience working with molecular biology, microbiology, and plant pathology. I have taken many classes with labs as well including; Ecology, Herpetology, Plant Systematics, Ornithology, and bee husbandry to name a few. The semester before last, I did my own project through Science with Practice at Iowa State University over the RPS 12 gene in soybean plants. I am sending this email for any advice or possible opportunities to further my career in research. I recently relocated down to Tampa, Florida. I am very interested in research of all types and would love to gain more experience. I have a CV including my previous research positions and the main skills/techniques learned from them. I also have a separate sheet for programs I have learned and different skills/techniques I have acquired from classes and the labs.
