all-partnership/job

Apply as a Youth Crew Leader and help us pilot and implement youth
programs across the state working with the Indian Education for All
(IEFA) school district staff. We will be offering opportunities for
American Indian middle school and high school age teens in Billings and
piloting a high school program in Great Falls. Leading a crew of teens,
with two co-leaders, you will complete daily outdoor service projects in
multiple locations in the area, working side by side with teachers and
the public land representatives, learn about different land management
agencies, the rigors of hands-on work, and the beauty of the ancestral
lands around you. Leaders will be preparing and delivering lessons that
facilitate active, fun, and culturally relevant material in
collaboration with multiple community partners to provide an impactful,
positive experience with our public lands!

As a leader of the crew, you might spend a day working alongside MT
Audubon or the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center learning about native
plants and their traditional uses; another day might be spent clearing
trails in the Beartooths or Little Belt Mountains. Each day is a new
opportunity to connect with different agencies or non-profits to develop
projects and curriculum to guide your crew. You will have close to two
weeks of hands-on outdoor service learning and projects with each crew,
that will wrap with a capstone project camped out for 1-3 nights. Check
the video link below of our 2017 pilot year in Billings!
