A postdoctoral position is available within the Department of Entomology at the University of Maryland to develop sustainable insect management programs in small fruit or agronomic crops. The successful candidate will be able to design and carry out their own experiments within the lab's ongoing projects in agronomic or small fruit cropping systems. Basic and applied research interests that include integrated pest management, invasive species, and insect-microorganism interactions would best fit current and future research directions within the Hamby research group. The successful candidate will be expected to analyze and publish data, initiate and manage both field and laboratory projects, compose grants, and will be expected to travel to field sites. Professional development opportunities such as management of grants and student supervision will be provided. This position will be located on the University of Maryland College Park campus. This is a term-limited position with the option to renew, depending on performance and availability of funding.
