Assistant Professor of Biology at Northern State University, Aberdeen, South Dakota
Position: Full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Biology, Ecology or a related field from an accredited institution is required. ABD with a definite completion date will be considered. Interest and/or background in land or/water management is preferred. Evidence of interdisciplinary work also preferred. Successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional competence in teaching and have strong communication skills. Responsibilities: Develop and teach undergraduate courses (12 credits per semester) in invertebrate and vertebrate biology, conservation-related courses, other classes related to the expertise of the applicant and department needs, and other duties as assigned, such as teaching First Year Seminar. The applicant will be expected to be actively involved in student recruitment and contribute to curriculum development in their area of expertise. Applicant should have a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Research, scholarly activity, and university service are expected, as well as a commitment to engage undergraduate students in research.
