Hi everyone!

I’m writing to share Dogwood Alliance’s new report, entitled Treasures of the
South, which
details just how much wetland forests (bottomland hardwoods) in the US South
are worth.

You can’t put a price tag on clean air and water, protection from storms and
flooding. But
we knew that it was important to quantify the services our forests provide, so
we started
digging. We considered things like water filtration, tourism, protection from
extreme
weather events, raw materials, and food.

We hope that this report will be a great resource for educators, activists, and
anyone
trying to communicate the value of natural systems to the public.

If you’ve only got a few minutes, you can browse our web landing page or
check out the interactive state map. If you’ve got longer, you can check
out the report itself! Here's the link:

Thanks!
