We are looking for a professionally-trained individual with a minimum of a MS (PhD preferred) to coordinate conservation efforts for natural areas under the care of San Diego Zoo Global. The position has primary management duties for the coastal sage scrub habitat adjacent to the SDZ Safari Park in Escondido, CA. Additionally, the position will have opportunity for novel research as well as collaboration with several local, state and federal partners managing conservation areas throughout San Diego County and Southern California. The salary is quite competitive, with excellent benefits, and the position comes with a start-up operating budget. The position reports to me as Director of Plant Collections and Strategy but will also have the chance to work with a variety of teams at SDZG including horticulture, plant conservation, animal collections staff and conservation researchers at the Institute for Conservation Research.
