Dear list members, I am organizing a summer school on "Data-driven ecological synthesis", with support from the Canadian Institute of Ecology and Evolution.
This week-long intensive class (Apr. 30, May 6) will be held at the Station de Biologie des Laurentides, Université de Montréal. We will cover (i) data management, automated QA/QC, relational databases, (ii) open data, intellectual property, ethical challenges, (iii) scientific computing and parallel data manipulation, and (iv) independent research projects. No prior knowledge is expected of applicants. The registration fees are 795$ for students outside Québec. We have some financial support to pay the fees for students from under- represented minorities in STEM field, in particular from first nations. Link + registration form: http://poisotlab.io/summerschool/ Attendance is limited to 20 students; selected applicants will be notified in February. -- Timothée Poisot, PhD Professeur adjoint - Écologie Quantitative & Computationnelle Département des Sciences Biologiques, Université de Montréal Why is this email short? http://five.sentenc.es/ http://poisotlab.io.io || @PoisotLab || 0000-0002-0735-5184
