A request for information from an exercise physiologist. If you have suggestions for him please let me know. Thanks.

I am searching for articles on physical activity measurement in animals. I know there are studies using pedometers in cows and dogs. I suspect there may be studies that quantify physical activity in migrating birds by measuring the number of flaps of the wings. I also suspect there may be studies that quantify activity in fish by the number of tail swishes (many researchers put fish in swim flumes and measure VO2, EMG, and all sorts of things). Do you know of some examples of such articles?
